Permission = Faith

I love the idea behind Permission Ministries.

The very word Permission can have such meanings as granted consent, authorization, approval and blessing.

Knowing that we have been literally commissioned by God should inspire us to dream and actually take steps towards the realization of what’s in our heart.

The word also challenges us to forsake our fear of failure and dare to believe that God has a plan and purpose for our lives and has provided all we need to fulfill those dreams. Our responsibility is to take steps of faith!

Faith connects us with our creator and enables us to bond with God like a new born to its mother. When we walk by faith and not by sight we will see life with the “inner eyes” of our soul. We don’t ignore the physical world but we do process it through a belief in a loving, heavenly Father.

For example, young children walk across the street holding their parents hand unaware of the dangers involved. Their trust in the parent is like a physical bond that compels them to follow and obey.

This is why Jesus tells us to be like Children in our approach to the kingdom. When we walk in faith we will find ourselves moving in our destiny.

Below are some practical and intentional steps we can take to fully embrace our destiny.

  1. John Wimber said it best. Faith is spelled R.I.S.K. For faith to grow you will need to step out and trust God in such a way that you will fail if He doesn’t come through. Whether it’s praying for healing or launching out in a business venture, you gotta risk it and face the fact that you may fail. Let me make this easier for you. You will fail from time to time. But the amazing thing is God doesn’t mind. In fact, He’s delighted that you are trying. Failing and falling are great teachers. Be a good learner!

  2. God is a rewarder to those who believe in Him, Hebrews 11:6. Your faith will be rewarded as God redeems all things, even failures. Be encouraged because you can’t lose!

  3. The book of Jude, verse 20, gives us some great counsel. “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost!” I believe this verse isn’t limited to praying in tongues but includes all prayer. In other words, when we pray we need to realize we are partnering with Holy Spirit. We want to pray with a heightened awareness of His presence and nearness. It’s also not a one way monologue but a two way conversation.

  4. Faith needs to be protected. We see Jesus doing this when He tells the mourners to leave the little girl’s room who had “died”. He was cultivating an atmosphere of faith. Feed your faith on God’s word, encouraging friends and beware of negative situations, people, media, etc., that tear you down and discourage you.

  5. Graham Cooke makes a great point saying, “Before you engage your circumstances you need to engage God.” When we engage God we get a better picture of who we are in Him!”

  6. Live in a state of expectation. I have prophetic words over my life regarding finances and prosperity. So, for example, I go to the mailbox expecting to receive checks in the mail. I totally expect to be given houses, cars and opportunities that are exceedingly above all I ask or think. (By the way, each of these things have happened over the course of my walk with God and they are incredibly faith building!)

Some might say I’m unrealistic or, worse yet, delusional.

I’ll gladly bear that stigma for the privilege of living in expectancy!

Living in expectancy doesn’t nullify our responsibility to work hard and take care of God given responsibilities.

Neither do we forsake wisdom and discernment as a mature walk requires all these qualities.
