Seasons Greetings!

We Christians have the best reasons to celebrate the festive season and it all begins with the Thanksgiving holiday.

Gratefulness is so important to our spiritual well being as it counters the negativity that constantly assaults our minds. From there our thinking moves to Christmas with the central message being Christ’s birth and the announcement of peace and joy to all mankind.

Lastly, we turn our attention to think about plans, resolutions and dreams we want to see fulfilled in the New Year. It’s a lot to think about and we can easily get caught up in the rush and excitement of the holiday season and miss the simple moments of joy and celebration. When met with such a challenge, which obviously isn’t confined to the holiday season, I find its helpful to go back to basics.

A foundational basic principle is Grace & Love-Based Teaching. It’s one of our key values and it’s cited on our web site PermissionMinistries.com under the Who We Are tab. It basically states, “Grace is essential to healthy and mature growth!”

In other words, there is always grace to accomplish what God has ordained. So, be aware when you feel you are struggling to accomplish something as to whether or not you are doing the Father’s will.  If I’m striving in my own strength I need to ask am I on the right assignment from heaven? Whether it's a hectic holiday season or you are in the middle of summer vacation we want to be grace based in our thoughts, words and deeds. Living out of union and relationship with Jesus, John 15, is the only way to live.

Here’s a holiday Prayer to encourage you this season!

“May you remember to be thankful knowing the Lord will bless your holiday season with Joy and laughter, fond memories, relational restoration, hope and excitement for what the new year will hold. He is willing and able to bless you exceedingly, abundantly above all you ask or think!”

Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
