Update & Transition for Gary & Jane Goodell
Third Day Churches was birthed from the heart of Gary Goodell.
A vision to see the church through a different perspective and see it come into its full measure of maturity and effectiveness. He believed first and foremost the church is not an institution but a body of believers, a family, a brotherhood that is walking together in a relational context.
Secondly, he encouraged people to step out and explore, discover and exercise their giftings, what we call, "permission granted." In other words, it was time to get out of the pews and use our gifts to serve for His Kingdom. From that season a host of ministries were inspired and launched that continue to make an impact to this day.
That being said, we know that change happens in families and is vital to growth, and believe it is time to adjust the ministry of Third Day Churches. TDC was never meant, nor has been a denominational styled movement with a hierarchy of leaders. The focus has been a teaching and coaching ministry to inspire believers to step out, take chances, and serve God with their vision and ideas He’s put in their hearts.
A primary need for the change is Gary’s health and limited energy. Several months ago Jane and Gary moved from where they had lived along the San Diego coast for nearly 30 years, to a smaller home 20 miles inland to Santee, California.
The Goodells continue to need your generous ministry support for this season of their lives. And to be clear, Gary continues to write, do zoom gatherings, and is available for leadership mentoring and consulting.
